Sandra Torres is
a native Southern Californian. Born in Los Angeles, she grew
up in San Diego where she continues to reside. She is currently
a Production Coordinator/Producer at KPBS in San Diego where
she has produced various productions including SDSU’s
360 Video Tour and the Monty Awards video presentation for the
SDSU Alumni Association.
Prior to KPBS Torres was a news segment producer for KSWB,
the Tribune’s affiliate in San Diego and the station’s
community affairs program “My Generation”. Her
experience at KSWB ranged from field production to assignment
desk, to reporting and covering stories on both sides of the
border.
Ms. Torres’s producing experience started when she
participated in a local community affairs program aimed at
teens and young adults called Fresh Point, which aired on
the local Fox affiliate.
In addition to her work in news, Torres also developed a
Spanish language advertising campaign for a local law firm.
She continues to work as a consultant for the firm, as well
as serve as on-air talent for their Spanish language commercials.
Sandra is currently a freelance writer for Latino Builder’s
Magazine, and has freelanced for La Prensa bilingual newspaper,
and Latino Economics/Minority Magazine.
