Katia Lopez-Hodoyán was raised in the Tijuana/San Diego border
region. She is currently working as a writer for KNSD's Spanish
Language sister station "Mi San Diego." She freelances
for La Prensa newspaper and delivers live weekly reports on
KUSI in a merging venture between the publication and television
station.
She has also produced independent reports on Latin America for
UCSD-TV.
For the past two years, Ms. Lopez-Hodoyán worked as an assignment
editor, and writer for KBNT-TV, enterprising many stories on
both sides of the border.
Lopez-Hodoyán is a graduate of the University of San Francisco
and in 2002 she received her B.A. in Media Studies.
She also held positions with the World Affairs Council of Northern
California and reported for the prestigious award winning student
newspaper "The Sun" while attending classes at Southwestern
College.
Over the years Ms. Lopez-Hodoyán has earned awards from the
Journalism Association of Community Colleges Excellence Award,
and the San Diego Press Foundation. |
