Horacio
Jones brings with him years of experience in the music,
audio, and video worlds. Horacio began playing the guitar when
he was 13 and studied classical guitar with Stanley Yates and
Tom Johnson. He received his Bachelor of Music in music composition
from the University of North Texas College of Music, which is
acclaimed for its electronic music department. Having access
to the College's sophisticated equipment and software offered
Horacio advanced training in electronic music composition. He
has played with a variety of ensembles including the North Texas
Guitar Ensemble and the UCSD Guitar Ensemble. One of his main
passions is contemporary Latin American pieces for solo guitar.
During his senior year at UNT, Horacio began working as a video
editor and Master Control Room Operator for American Independent
Network. There he learned to operate all of the equipment necessary
to make films, and commercials including editing and camera
techniques. Horacio has worked as an Instructional Technology
Specialist at the University of North Texas Health Science Center
in
Ft. Worth, as a Video Editor/Compressionist for the UCSD School
of
Medicine, and is now currently a freelance filmmaker/editor
in San
Diego shooting, directing, and producing documentaries, event
videos,
and music videos.
This year, he had his first documentary “Live at Open
Mic,” aired on KPBS and is now directing an exciting documentary
on neighbor disputes in San Diego and another documentary entitled
"Perfect Society," which examines social issues in
America. Additionally, Horacio is developing his first feature
film and working on a new reality series with a twist called
"Relationship Quarterbacks."
